How will I be involved in my child's therapy?
We believe healing happens best with support all around a child. In the early part of each session, we check in with parents — a chance to share what's coming up at home, ask questions, and feel supported alongside your child.
For teens, we work one-on-one with the client, respecting their need for privacy and space to open up. Parents remain part of the process too: you're always welcome to call or email your teen's therapist directly with any concerns.
Is art therapy just for kids?
We offer sessions both in person and virtually, so you can choose what fits your life. Our approach blends traditional talk therapy with art therapy — a gentle, expressive way to work through trauma, process emotion, and build tools for managing anxiety.
How often should the sessions be?
We typically recommend weekly sessions when starting out, as consistency helps build trust and momentum. There's no long-term contract — you're free to adjust as your needs change. We do ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations.
How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?
We are in-network with Aetna in NY (NJ requires an approval), Cigna, Health First, and MVP commercial plans.
If you have a different insurance provider, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits for reimbursement. We're unable to guarantee reimbursement from any insurance company, so we encourage you to contact your plan directly to confirm whether psychotherapy sessions are covered out-of-network.
Self-pay rate: $169 per session, due at the time of your visit.
